Join us in celebrating the 2012
Trainworks Winter Beer Festival
Trainworks Winter Beer Festival is a celebration of carefully crafted beers for the wintry season.
Set in Thirlmere NSW at Australia’s newest and largest rail museum, find yourself delighted with the setting, the flavour and the journey to wonderful beer.
This family-friendly event is safe and relaxing for multiple generations. From Master Classes for the brew enthusiasts and children's activities, to lounging on the grounds and tapping along to great tunes by the live bands, there is plenty for everyone.
Comfort is King! In addition to plenty of brewers providing tastings, great food and entertainment, a great museum to explore, and a great day in the country, there will be plenty of seating, heaters, toilets and parking.
The lovely list of
Brewers
Invitations to select boutique brewers have been accepted by some of Australia’s elite.
As at (this date), these are the brewers participating in Trainworks Winter Beer Festival. To keep up to date, follow the Beer Diva’s updates on Twitter @TrainworksNSW or on Facebook LIKE Trainworks Winter Beer Festival for updates.
Kirrily Waldhorn
The Beer Diva
Heading up Beer Diva is Kirrily Waldhorn, Australia's first lady of beer.
Kirrily is not your stereotypical beer presenter, writer or judge. She has appeared on radio, TV and in the press talking about everything from the ancient history of beer to beer gastronomy and busting beer myths (and there are plenty). Kirrily is on a mission to make beer the new wine in Australia and is introducing Australians to the benefits of pouring a fine pilsner - instead of a fine pinot - at the dinner table. Kirrily has won over many foodies, sophisticates and women to the complexities and diverse styles of beer. It's all a far cry from the usual image Aussies have of the bloated, overweight, belching, football-loving beer drinker.
Kirrily has spent 13 years working in the beer industry.
She is the beer writer for the Herald Sun, Editor of Froth & Fodder (launching September 2012), and former Editor of Beer & Brewer along with regularly contributing to a number of different publications. Kirrily is also a beer judge and was invited to London to judge the Champion Beer of Britain and speak at The Great British Beer Festival. She was the only female beer judge at the Australian Beer Awards and is a keynote speaker at most of the Beer Festivals occurring in Australia. Kirrily recently completed a 7-show run of Beer Diva - Beer is proof that God wants us to be happy, at The Sydney Opera House.
Her company, Beer Diva hosts events which have gained a loyal following and provide a unique and memorable experience for all of those who attend. Kirrily, as The Beer Diva is thoroughly entertaining and really knows her beer.
